The relationship between blood and adopted siblings can be challenging at the best of times.  However, what is the legal position on an intestacy?  When this question was put to the court in Grant v McDermott the court determind that the adoptive relationship took precedence and the son of an adoptive sisiter inherited the residue that was subject to an intestacy, not the blood siblings.
